Get ready to embark on a culinary adventure as we explore the steps to create your own mouthwatering Cheese Danish. It’s easier than you think!

Getting Started

Let’s begin by gathering our ingredients and supplies. Below I will list every item that I use and where to find it!

Supplies

  • Piping Bag (or Ziplock bag)
  • Parchment Paper
  • Pastry Brush
  • Baking Sheet
  • Cooling Rack
  • Whisk
  • 1 medium, 1 small bowl
  • Stand Mixer (a hand mixer will do)

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of Puff Pastry (I use Pepperidge Farm Pastry Sheets, or see my homemade recipe here)
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese, Philadelphia
  • 1/2 tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tbsp Water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400F, then line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a flat surface spread the puff pastry and cut it into 6 equally sized squares or rectangles. You can also get creative about the shape if you want! Place on the baking sheet.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Fill a piping bag (or a ziplock bag) with the cream cheese and cut the tip off about 2 centimeters in. Pipe a line in the center of each puff pastry making sure to leave about half an inch on either side.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk the egg and water to make the egg wash. I use this silicone brush from Amazon. Dip a pastry brush in the egg wash, and brush the edges of the puff pastry.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-16 minutes before removing and allowing them to cool down on the cooling rack.
